Although João was born in Brazil and grew up speaking Portuguese, he has been a New Yorker since 2008 when he started a master’s degree T.E.S.O.L program at the City College of New York, completing it in 2010. In 2011, João completed a translation program at NYU, specializing in Medical, Legal, Finance, Tech/Engineering translations. In June of 2023, he graduated from Alumni - Curso de Formação de Tradutores e Intérpretes and officially became an interpreter. Joao is proficient in providing Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) for various domains, including Market Research Interpretation; AI Tools & Fraud Detection (DataRobot), and exploratory meetings. More recently, João has been undergoing professional Medical Interpreter training with AALB (Americans Against Language Barriers), a program recognized by the IMIA (International Medical Interpreters). When he is not working, João enjoys traveling, dining at restaurants, swimming, and hiking. He is also passionate about DJing and at times he gets booked for gigs. In 2023, João joined The Drake’s team in 2023.
